How it works
About the cost of delay calculator
The last few years of compounding produce the biggest gains. When you delay, you do not lose the first few years of growth; you lose the last few, which are the largest.
The formula
Cost of delay = FV(SIP, N months) − FV(SIP, N − d months)
d = months of delay; both scenarios end on the same date.
Frequently asked questions
Is it worth starting with a small amount?
Yes. Starting small today and increasing later usually beats waiting until you can invest a larger amount.
