About the STP calculator
A Systematic Transfer Plan (STP) moves a fixed amount every month from one fund, usually a liquid or short-term debt fund, into another, usually an equity fund. It spreads your entry into equity over time while the money waiting to move still earns a return.
The formula
rs, rt = annual returns ÷ 12.
Frequently asked questions
When does an STP make sense?
When you have a large amount to invest in equity but would rather not invest it all at once. It reduces the risk of entering at a market high.
